Acupuncture is an ancient form of medicine

Acupuncture is an ancient form of medicine that's over four thousand years old. Hair-thin needles are inserted into specific places of the body where Qi resonates most.

Qi is energy that flows throughout the body, like waterways, bringing with it blood and fluids. There are wells, streams, rivers and even seas that exist in all of us, working together in an intricate and brilliant network of meridians with the sole purpose of seeking and maintaining balance in the body.

Externally, we are affected by climate, temperature and pestilence.
Internally, we are affected by emotions, diet and lifestyle.
And, constitutionally, we can be predisposed to hereditary diseases.

Life can bring challenges and illness to the Qi of these waterways, acute or chronic whether it's created by external, internal or constitutional factors, if not all three. We often become dispirited by our ailments and sometimes resign to live with them. We may even joke that there's a laundry list of what needs fixing, and yet, we don't seem to know where to begin the healing process of body, mind and spirit.

Acupuncture is a great way to start.
